2004 Rolex Daytona Ref. 116520 'Panna' with Box and service papers

The Ref. 116520 was produced from 2000 until 2016. The aesthetics of the 116520 are very similar to the previous Ref. 16520 but a few changes took place.

 

The most sought-after Ref. 116520 are those of the first batches as the materials used in the manufacturing of the dial made them age quicker, acquiring a very nice ‘panna’ patina. This error was quickly amended by Rolex introducing other materials trying to prevent this faster aging.

Offered for sale here is an extremely beautiful example of a Rolex Daytona Cosmograph Ref. 116520 from the early production years that features a lovely so-called ‘Panna’ dial.

 

The flawless dial shows a subtle, light creamy patina hue that makes it very distinctive amongst the 116520 family. The luminova lume glows bright when exposed to light.

 

The 40mm stainless steel case remains thick and robust, showing only normal signs of use, with no mayor dents or scratches. The case back remains in the same condition.

 

It comes suited on its original 20mm Rolex Oyster 78490 stainless steel bracelet with 78490 AD end links and clasp code AD10 that presents little to no stretch at all and only normal signs of wear.

 

The sapphire crystal is clean.

 

It is running well and keeping time as it was recently serviced in December 2023 by a local watchmaker.

 

It is presented with its original outer box with reference and dial color sticker (these also came with black dials), inner box, manuals, service manual, travel pouch and service invoice.
