1986 Rolex GMT-Master Ref. 16750 'heavy patina' Full Set

Being the predecessor of the infamous GMT-Master Ref. 1675, the 16750 is known as a transitional reference. Released around 1979/1980 and produced until 1988, they were aesthetically the same as the 1675 but introducing a quickset feature and re-organizing the order of the hands.

 

The first 16750s came with matte dials, and at around 1986 Rolex switched to glossy dials with gold hour marker surroundings.

 

This reference has rapidly turned into a sough-after for collectors, and there’s no wonder why.

The example offered here is an extraordinary specimen. It features a perfect glossy dial, with heavy patina hour markers. The hands have aged differently, giving the watch so much character.

 

The 40mm stainless steel case is in great condition, remaining thick and very sharp letting show signs of wear.

 

The original, Serif font ‘Pepsi’ bezel is also in great shape.

 

The watch is running well and keeping time as it has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.

 

It comes suited with the correct 20mm Rolex 78360 stainless steel bracelet with 580 end links and clasp code I11.

 

Lastly but not least, it is presented as a very complete set which includes outer box with reference sticker, inner box, wallet, translation leaflet and stamped guarantee papers showing it was sold by a Spanish jeweler in 1986.
