Offered here is a classic design of a Rolex Datejust Ref. 16000 from 1981.
The white ‘Buckley’ dial is flawless without any stains, marks, chips or miss prints. The dial shows a brighter white when the sun hits it and a paler, off-white under a cloudy sky indicating it has a subtle patina evenly spread. The complete, puffy, rounded lume plots have aged to a vivid orange patina hue.
The case remains thick and sharp, most probably unpolished. The case back remains in the same condition, wearing a generic protective sticker.
It is suited on a Rolex Jubilee 62510H solid links stainless steel bracelet with 55 end links and clasp code N3 that shows little stretch for its age.
The watch is running great and keeping time as per indication of the timegrapher, although service history is unknown.
It is presented as a full set which includes outer box with reference sticker, inner box, hang tags, manuals, calendar, wallet, translation leaflet and punched guarantee papers.
36mm is the perfect and only size for a Datejust. It’s a timeless design. You can wear it with Converse or on a suit. The ‘Buckley’ dial is the most distinguished and “out of the crowd” variation, plus in white it will just never bore you. The smooth bezel makes it more elegant and aesthetic than the fluted one and the Jubilee bracelet completes the overall Rolex vintage looks.
Movement and inner case back pictures are available under request, as well as dial and case macros.
