The watch offered for sale here is a Rolex Daytona Ref. 6265 with silver dial from 1971.
The silver sunburst panda dial is in great condition, showing only light wear. It presents intact lume plots aged to a yellow patina hue and matching hands. The sub-registers are clean, and the ones at 6 and 9 have started to tropicalized.
The case remains in good shape with thick lugs and normal signs of wear. The case back shows normal wear too. The inner case back is correctly engraved 6262 (Rolex mounted spare case backs from older references to early 6265s). The Oyster case also has the correct screw-down crown and MK1 pushers. The correct MK1 bezel is also in good condition with normal signs of wear.
The original acrylic crystal has some minor marks that could be easily buffed away.
It is suited on its original Rolex Oyster 7835 folded-links stainless steel bracelet with 271 end links and clasp dated 3/72 that shows only light wear and little stretch.
The manually wound Rolex cal. 727 is very clean and running strong, keeping excellent time and with all functions working properly.
It comes as a full set which includes inner trapezoidal box with translation leaflet, wallet and punched guarantee papers showing it was sold in Venezuela in 1973.
This is indeed a great opportunity to own a piece of Rolex history.
Macros of case and dial are available under request.
